You are currently viewing Prayer Walks: The Holy Spirit

When he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.    -John 16:13

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.    -Acts 1:8

This week as you walk, pray the Holy Spirit would empower the Church to be faithful witnesses to the love of God.  And pray that the Holy Spirit would open the eyes of the hearts of those who don’t yet know the Truth of God’s love-

Pray for the Church: 

  • Isaiah 61.1-3: The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.
    He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
    to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
  • Acts 4.31-32: After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.
  • 1 Cor 2.4-5: My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that our faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

Pray the Holy Spirit would reveal the Truth of who God is: 

  •  Ephesians 1.17-19: I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,  and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
  • Ephesians 3.16-19: I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
