God’s Character: This week as we pray for our local ministry partners who are serving others in our community, take time to focus on who God is as a Good Shepherd-

  • His Gentleness: He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart   -Isaiah 40:11
  • His Healing: I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak   -Ezekiel 34:16
  • His Rest and Restoration: He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul   -Psalm 23:2

THANKSGIVING

Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.

And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.          -Thess 2:8,13

Take time to thank God:

  • For His willingness to share his life with us and lay it down for us
  • And for inviting us and giving us the grace to go and do the same for others
  • For all those who have received the word of God through our lives and ministries

CONFESSION/REPENTANCE

We can confess personal sins we have committed. We can also pray a prayer of corporate confession on behalf of a people/community (see Daniel 9). Take time to confess any areas of sin God brings to mind (personal or corporate) and ask Him to give us clean hands and pure hearts (Psalm 24).

  • Jesus, we confess that as your Body, there have been times that we have not reflected your love to those around us.  Forgive us for not being faithful witnesses and for not showing the mercy and grace to others that you have given to us. Please help us to lay down our lives for others so that they may know the great love you have for them.

INTERCESSION

Use Colossians 1:9-12 to pray for our Local Ministry Partners:

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.
