Brief update: we had a total of 44 people nominated and after prayerful consideration 26 have chosen to accept their nomination. Thank you to all who participated in the process- nominating, being nominated, accepting/declining the nomination.
Next step: congregational discernment. Below is the list of the 26 people nominated by the congregation who are willing to serve on the Admin Team. We are asking all those who consider StoneBridge to be their home church to look over this list through the following lens: do I know of any reason why this person is not qualified to serve on the Admin Team at this time? To be clear, we are focusing on relational and/or character issues that would disqualify a person from leadership. Please use the following criteria as you consider the nominees:
- Clearly and consistently exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control (Galatians 5.22-23);
- Maintaining loving and peaceful relationships with others as far as such depends on them (Romans 12.10 and 12.18)
Next, next step: if you have a reason to challenge the suitability of a nominee based on the qualifications listed above (through first-hand knowledge) please approach them one-on-one in order to attempt to resolve the issue (Matthew 18.15.) If this is unsuccessful, please bring the matter to my attention and I will make a determination on how to proceed.
Next, next, next step: If no concerns have been brought to my attention by February 11 then the current Admin Team will select 5 people from the list below to serve, beginning in February.
Again, we value your prayers throughout this process. We have 26 phenomenal candidates who all bring unique gifts and strengths to the table and only 5 spots on the team. Please pray for both the current team as the decision is being made and that God would use this for good in the life of every nominee regardless of the outcome.
