Spiritual Practices: Drawing Near to God in Every Season

Over the past several years, our church has spent time exploring various spiritual practices — ways of intentionally creating space for God to shape our hearts, deepen our faith, and strengthen our community. These practices aren’t meant to be one-time focuses but rhythms we can continue to return to again and again.

Below you’ll find an overview of each focus from 2022–2026, along with resources and guides to help you continue engaging in these practices today.

Extended Time with God / Wilderness Time

There’s something transformative about stepping away from distractions and spending unhurried time alone with God. Wilderness Time, or Extended Time with God, invites you to slow down, rest, listen, and let God speak through silence and solitude.

Bible reading plans

God’s Word is the foundation of our faith and the primary way we come to know His heart. Our Bible Reading Plans are designed to help you engage Scripture regularly — whether through a one-year plan, shorter focused readings, or a guided study with others.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

The Bible reveals who God is, what He does, and who we are in light of Him. Scripture meditation helps us slow down and let those truths sink deeply into our hearts.

In 2024, our church practiced ways of lingering in God’s Word through scripture memorization, Lectio Divina, worship, and prayer—all designed to move us from information to transformation.

Generosity / Adopting a Ministry Partner

Generosity is more than financial giving — it’s a reflection of God’s heart and a way we participate in His work in the world. As a church, we’ve practiced generosity by adopting ministry partners both locally and globally, supporting their work through prayer, encouragement, and resources.

Learn more about how you can connect with and support these partners below.

Spiritual Biographies (Coming in 2026)

Stories of faith remind us that God is always at work — in every generation and every life. This upcoming focus will invite us to learn from the faith journeys of others, drawing inspiration and encouragement as we reflect on our own.
