Our vision as a church is to see our community transformed by God.
We believe that one of the ways that will happen is as more and more people begin to follow Jesus, become more like Him, and do the things He did. One of the ways we can be more like Jesus is by serving others. All through the Gospels we see Jesus demonstrating that He didn’t come to be served but to serve and to lay down His life for others.
The pull of the world is to be self-focused, self-centered and to look out for number one.
To resist that pull and become more like Jesus we have to be intentional about looking outward and looking for ways to love others.
Over the summer we invite you to join us as we focus on growing in the practice of serving those around us.
If you don’t know where to start, we’ve put together some ideas of ways you can engage.
Below are two guides that will hopefully help as we try to more intentionally look outward.
CLICK HERE for a variety of opportunities available to serve with 10 different ministries that we support and partner with (6 of which were started and are led by people from StoneBridge). Each of these ministries are serving others well and have a lot of ways others can come alongside them and help.
There are things that are kid friendly, things you can do at home and things that you need to be older to help with.
From that page you can click the “register” button and select any ministries you are interested in serving with and we will help you get connected.
CLICK HERE for a card we created with ways you can serve right in your own neighborhood. In Hebrews 10 it says we are to spur one another on to love and good deeds, so we want to spur you on and invite you to see if you can complete the whole card over the course of the summer. We would love for you to bring it back at the end of the summer, or when you have it completed, and share your stories of where you’ve seen God at work.
WATCH HERE We know testimonies can be encouraging and inspiring so we wanted to show a quick video of someone who began asking how she could more intentionally love and serve those around her. We looking forward to hearing yours.
