Community Transformation: Marietta City Schools

Jul 12, 2017 | 0 comments

Our vision as a church is to see our community transformed by God. We believe this happens as we each begin to engage in the good works God has for us by loving and serving those around us and living out the values of His Kingdom wherever we are. There are many expressions of this as we partner with God to restore the broken places in our city.

With serving almost 9,000 students and employing more than 1,200 faculty our Marietta City School system provides a multitude of opportunities to serve others in our community.

We have been invited in to serve and invest there in a variety of ways recently and would love for you to join us in starting a movement in our schools.

Food Pantry at MSGA

The MUST Ministries Save-it-Forward food pantry program started a food pantry at the Marietta Sixth Grade Academy last year. They distribute food once-a-month to families who have children in the district and are in need of extra financial help. Distribution is on the second Thursday of each month from 5:00-8:00pm. Teams of 6 people are needed each time to help with the distribution. This is a great way for families and/or small groups to serve together. If you speak Spanish they especially need your help. Help is also needed on the second Wednesday to help stock the shelves. Katie White is coordinating volunteers. You can contact her at with any questions and to sign up to help. If you can’t make it to serve they can always use donations of large diapers, cereal, toiletries, applesauce pouches and fruit snacks.

Soccer in the Streets

We have been invited to partner with Soccer in the Streets and Atlanta United to help launch a soccer program for the students at Park Street Elementary. This fall we plan to coach a boys and girls team during practices and games for 6-8 weeks starting in September. If you are interested in learning more about investing in these students by serving as a coach, assistant coach, referee or providing snacks please contact Liz Walker at for more information.

Meet and Greet Volunteers

The PTA of the Marietta Sixth Grade Academy and the Marietta Middle School contacted us and asked for help with volunteers at their Meet and Greet on Wednesday, August 2. They need help in the school store selling school uniforms from 12:00- 2:30 at the Sixth Grade Academy and from 3:00-5:00 at the Middle School. If you can help please contact Kim Kremer at
